Getting ready for the next few weeks of installation fury with the car. Cleaning up used parts and setting them aside for private sale as well as putting tools in their correct spots after sitting out all willy nilly for a few months during school.

I guess after a semester is done, I feel nice getting “centered” by straightening up and cleaning out the garage, hope to be rattling neighbors windows before the fall semester starts back up.

This was just midway through it all today. Also pulled the old catback so I can do a few things prior to install including cleaning the oil slick off the underside of the car...

Yup, rear end is pulled. Just had it powdercoated a while back and going to reassemble this week. Fresh 3.42s and an Eaton road race/auto-x differential + other stuff.

Was sitting sedentary for a few months in the garage, then pulled the rear end out a while back so it is up on stands for awhile.

Still need to do the CTS-V brake upgrade and find some wheels that I actually like that will fit. Too many wal-mart fabulous looking deep dish wheels. I wish Enkei had the RPF-1’s in the size/offset I need.

do you need a crazy one to clear the brakes?

18” wheels at the minimum. My Speedline Mistrals are 17’s and I lament that.

The RPF-1’s don’t even come in 5x120.65 bolt pattern, which is a pity because I know a lot of the Vette guys would jump on them. Lightweight, good size wheels for a reasonable price compared to some of the higher priced monobloks.

may not be lightest but will newer vette wheels fit?

Some will, but some of the repros actually will not clear the brakes.

I’m probably going to have to track down a squared set of 18” C5 Z06’s as those tend to be pretty sturdy.
